Point to Point Live video with SRT is a great way of getting a broadcast high quality video feed direct from one location to another with low latency (delay). In the passed people have used a range of options but most have been low quality or long delay or very expensive (or all three)
Last year Paragon Live started using our new Bonded SRT point to point system. Here are two very good but very different examples of how it can work:
First was on a job needing to get a remote video feed to a mobile outdoor LED Screen. In the past this would have been streamed to somewhere like Vimeo or YouTube and then simply played out via a laptop to the big screen. for this job the screen was in the middle of a field with very little internet and the client was wanted less than 3-4 seconds of delay.
Second was a live broadcast where we were the remote OB, the clients producer wanted us to be able to see the main live broadcast (happening some 300 miles away) as it was going out, in high quality and again with minimal delay.
So what do we do, well we supply a small encoder which can be couriered to the live location. All that this requires is power, a video signal and a network cable with internet. No setting up of the unit is required, just plug it in and switch it on. At the other end we have the decoder which plays out to the screen and our Bonded internet solution takes care of the connectivity.
What we then have is a high quality video feed with very low delay in a remote location.
